The living room just got a little more connected. The WiiM Home app is now live for LG webOS TVs, giving WiiM listeners a simple way to see what is playing and use basic playback controls right from the big screen.
This is a welcome addition for anyone who already uses WiiM around the house and wants the TV to feel more connected to the music experience. Put on an album, start a playlist, or let the queue run, then glance at the TV to check the track information without reaching for a phone every time. WiiM Home TV app is available on Android TV, Apple TV, FireTV, and now LG webOS.
The key thing to know is simple: WiiM Home apps for TV are companion experiences. They are great for seeing what is playing and handling basic controls, but they are not meant to replace the WiiM Home mobile app. The mobile app remains the main way to set up devices, manage deeper settings, browse more fully, and control the full WiiM system.
For now, the LG webOS app focuses on the basics. More functionality will be added over time.

The WiiM Home app is now available on the LG Apps store
The WiiM Home app can now be found in the LG Apps store on supported LG webOS TV models.
Availability covers recent LG TV generations:
LG TV model year | webOS version |
2025 TV models | webOS 25 |
2024 TV models | webOS 24 |
2023 TV models | webOS 23 |
If your TV falls into one of those model years, open the LG Apps store and search for WiiM Home. Once installed, it can live alongside your other TV apps and give you a quick way to check what is playing through your WiiM setup.
When music is playing during dinner, a weekend hangout, or a quiet evening, seeing the artist, track, and playback status on the TV can make the whole experience feel more natural.
This does not turn the TV into command central for every WiiM feature. It gives the room a clear display and basic control surface, which is exactly what many listeners want from a TV app.
What the LG webOS app is made for
The WiiM Home app for LG webOS is best understood as a TV-friendly companion to the mobile app.
That means it is useful for quick, visible interactions such as:
Checking what is currently playing
Viewing basic playback information
Using simple playback controls
Giving everyone in the room a shared “now playing” view
A TV screen is not the best place for every setting or every music management task. Remote controls are built for simple navigation. They are not as fast or flexible as a touchscreen when you need to browse, search, adjust device settings, group rooms, or manage fine audio details.
That is why the mobile app remains the primary control experience.
Think of the LG webOS app as the living room display for your WiiM system. Use the TV when you want a bigger screen and quick controls. Use the phone or tablet when you want full control.
That split keeps the experience practical. It also avoids trying to force a TV remote to do work that a mobile app already handles better.
What to expect at launch
At launch, expect basic functionality. That is by design.
The goal for the first version is to bring the WiiM Home experience to LG webOS in a way that fits how people use TVs. Most people do not want to type long searches with a directional pad or dig through advanced settings from across the room. They want the TV to show what is playing and respond to basic commands without getting in the way.
Early TV app features usually focus on the core jobs first. For a music companion app, that means visibility and simple control. Extra features can come later once the foundation works well across supported models and webOS versions.
That approach is especially important on TVs because the experience depends on several moving parts:
The TV model year
The webOS version
The remote control style
The home network
The WiiM devices in use
The way each listener uses their audio setup
Starting simple helps make the app useful without turning it into a crowded interface. It also leaves room for updates that add more over time.
What the TV app does not replace
The LG webOS app does not replace the WiiM Home mobile app.
That point is worth saying plainly because TV apps can look like full control centers at first glance. The larger screen can create the impression that everything should happen there. In practice, the best setup uses both screens for what they do well.
Use the mobile app for deeper control, including tasks like setup, account-related actions, device management, room grouping, input and output changes, and more detailed audio settings. Use the TV app when you want a quick look at what is playing or need a simple control without picking up your phone.
This is a healthy division of labor.
The TV makes music more visible. The mobile app keeps control fast and complete.
If you are already comfortable with the WiiM Home app on your phone, nothing about that needs to change. The LG webOS app adds another access point. It does not take anything away.
How to find and install it on an LG webOS TV
If you are new to installed apps on LG webOS, the process should feel familiar after the first time. Menu names can vary a little depending on the TV model and software version, but the general path is straightforward.
Start with the TV connected to the internet. Then use the remote to open the home screen and go to the app area.
A typical install flow looks like this:
Press the Home button on the LG remote.
Open Apps or the LG Apps store from the home screen.
Use search to look for 'WiiM Home'.
Select the app from the results.
Choose Install.
Open the app once installation finishes.
If the app does not appear right away, check that the TV is a supported model year and that the TV software is up to date. The app is available for 2025 models with webOS 25, 2024 models with webOS 24, and 2023 models with webOS 23.
LG also provides its own guidance for installing apps on webOS TVs, which can help if this is your first time adding an app through the TV interface.
